OT- Don the Con is scared out of his tiny little mind, and I can't stop giggling: https://apnews.com/article/trump-arrested-indicted-hush-money-manhattan-prosecutor-a48428984cf99d23f46b4157b34160ae

Mind you, nobody's actually announced their intentions to arrest him yet. 𝘏𝘦 believes it's going to happen, though, and he's claiming it'll happen next Tuesday. Finally- a prophecy that I 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 to come true! C'mon, DA Bragg, tip that first domino and indict the bastard already. Do it on Monday, just to fuck with him.

"That explanation makes a little more sense. They’re not going after anyone who uses the phrase, just people they believe are trying to capitalize on the ministry’s reputation."

Maybe they've accomplished protecting their name, because their reputation is in the toilet now.

Nobody wants to be associated even indirectly with a group that should seriously consider renaming themselves "Jealous Jackasses for Jesus."

I don't think they'd have much trouble with infringement on that moniker.

Maybe I should start an industrial design company and trademark its name as "Intelligent Design," or an innovative consulting firm for startups called "Creationism," and let the chaos ensue. Our biggest department would be Outgoing Lawsuits, and our biggest expense would be popcorn.

I should trademark the phrase 'God's Chosen People' and watch the fun unfold.

Christian infighting never ceases to amuse. It's 𝘴𝘰 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘦 when they make each others' lives miserable instead of visiting their existential insecurities on the rest of society...

"...on our business..."

Refreshing to see them admit that they're a business after all. I'm sure that they would be happy to pay taxes, right?

". . . and make a business that looks and acts like us.."

Since all evangelical organizations do the same thing that they do, how the fuck is that even possible?

Someone says "Worship Leader" and I hear "Heil Hitler."

Why does "god" need a "worship leader"?

Can't help but notice that none of these all-too-frequent stories are about drag performers or trans folks. Most of 'em seem to be cis/het white men... and Christians... and Republiclowns. Funny, that.

O/T "Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Md." How fitting that right wing Christian MAGA zealots chose to convene in a place called "gay lord!!??" It must be a sign from Jesus himself, who by the way never married or reported any children.

How do people doing God's work "mess up" like this? God's standards and work ethic has really declined since he created the Earth in 6 days. Now he can't even get Facebook to do a simple change order right to protect his (or should I say "their?") reputation.

Meanwhile, the Huckster is busy gutting child labor protections to ensure that once those fetuses she cares 𝘴𝘰 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘺 about come to term... they'll lead lives as short and as miserable as possible. Stay classy, Arkansas.

I feel like I should be making popcorn.

I think the only really obvious point here is that the trademark should never have been allowed to happen in the first place. The phrase 'worship leader' is generic enough it could be used by several different faiths, mean several different things, and I don't see any reason for a trademark on it other than to claim infringement down the road. To be clear, I'm not saying that's what Authentic Media did, just that it currently appears that way. (Oh, and I still am not a lawyer.) The optics on this one aren't going to be pretty for anyone involved, but I suspect it'll all vanish under the rug eventually.
