OT: All of Ahmaud Arbery’s killers were just sentenced to life.

It disgusts me that you can find faith healers online, in podcasts, on TVs and in arenas, but you never find any of them in a children's cancer ward. If I truly thought that I could heal with nothing but a touch that is where you would find me. Either there or in some lab jumping through whatever hoop the doctors and scientists thought was necessary and agreeing to all terms and conditions they put up as long I got the chance to send all of those kids home to lead healthy and happy lives. That you can't find a single faith healer there doing the same thing is proof enough that it is all a bullshit scam designed to separate the faithful from their money in the most dangerous way possible.

"You know, God gave me a dream back in 2013 or 2014."

It always kills me how vague these people are about what, if it were true, would be the most life-changing of events. Seriously, if God gave me a (verifiable) dream of great importance, I'd be able to narrow down the time it happened to closer than a year or two. (If God existed. Which he doesn't, of course. But if he did.)

I think our present situation with the medical and healthcare system is sufficient evidence that prayers to an imaginary healer are as worthless as Christian credibility. In spite of all the mega-preachers like Copeland, et al, who have publically declared the covid-19 virus to be dead, it is still killing the faithful at greater numbers than any other segement of the population. I include all the unvaccinated in that guesstimation.

Supposedly, healing comes from their god, which is no respector of persons, so why would trainking be necessary for 'faith healers?' Who, besides God, would be authorized to mete out the 'gifts od the spirit?' Faith healing has only ever been a money making gimmick for preachers and grifters.

This would be an excellent time for them to jump into the fray, though. My wifw had a stroke on 12/26, she stayed on a gurney in the ER for three days before a bed in an ICU could be located. We brought her cremated remains home yesterday. I'm sure the hospitals around the globe would appreciate anyone able to relieve this situation.

edit: There is nothing unique about our experience. It is a national disgrace that people refuse to be vaccinated or take any other precautions to protect themselves and then fault everyone else that the virus has not yet been cured.

If believing in god would really heal everyone, why does the Vatican still need healthcare? Or why do evangelical preachers end up in the hospital? Even faith healers go to doctors when they get sick. I mean, really the number of super devout and believers in faith healing that wear glasses should be an indication that believing super hard in God does not eliminate the need for a healthcare system.

Single payer is the way to go, like the rest of the developed world.

Officials in Maricopa County this week released a detailed rebuttal of the claims the Cyber Ninjas made casting doubt on the validity of ballots. After assessing the Cyber Ninjas' findings, county officials concluded that 76 of their 77 claims were false or misleading.

Meantime, a judge in Arizona's Maricopa County Thursday held the company in contempt and ordered it to pay $50,000 per day in sanctions for failing to provide records related to the so-called audit to the Arizona Republic, according to a report in the Republic.

If faith healing really worked, why would it need a building at all?

By all means, believers. Stay away from hospitals and modern medicine. Let Jeeeeeezus cure all your ills. You do have faith the size of a mustard seed, don't you?

OT, but COVID related: There is a story making the rounds that Aaron Rodgers might boycott the Super Bowl to protest NFL COVID policies.

For starters the Green Bay Packers need to make it to the SB first.

Second, Fuck Aaron Rodgers and fuck the NFL if they cave.

And while I'm at it, fuck Novak Djokovic.

So this man is saying that if you are shot or stabbed or have some other injury where you are losing blood then you should stop and pray and gawd will heal you if you believe? I want to see him try it first. Surely he is willing to demonstrate his good faith to convince others, right?

Put a faith healer to the test. Tell them to walk through a children's ward and do their magic. Be sure to tell them you'll be documenting everything with both video and sound equipment.

I can guarandamntee you won't get a single taker among these frauds.

Maybe faith healing could make hospitals obsolete if it actually WORKED, right?

I like how even in 1916 they put the "healing" part of "healing" hospital in scare quotes.
