Bummer -- My company has blocked Opensky. :( Which means I can only read it during non-office hours (I'm working from home full-time).

RE: Jerry Jr. and irreligion.

Few things would suck more than to be born the child of a wealthy grifting televangelist. Even if you survive the brainwashing, you would be expected to take the reins of the grifting empire and simultaneously be a financial genius, corporate executive, gifted liar and propagandist when daddy dies. Doing anything else with your life, or even having the chance for exploration of your own sexuality, alternative careers, or lifestyles would be verboten or you'd risk totally being disinherited when poppa dies.

It would be tough as a closet agnostic or atheist to walk away from that set of birth circumstances even if you were a good person at heart (Falwell apparently isn't), unless you were totally confident that you could survive on your own. Most people aren't confident striking totally out on their own when they finish high school. Sometimes oppressive psychological parental influence on personal decision-making can even outlast the lifespan of the parent.

Hemant, please continue to post your new articles here on Friendly Atheist Substack--particularly for those of us who subscribed. The OneSky platform is a disappointment, the other writers or their topics are dull or longwinded, and the comments format is clunky.

Question for anyone out there. I am a Christian, newly subscribed to this website. I am looking for sincere answers to the question: "What are the biggest problems non-Christians have with Christians?" I get a flavor with some of the articles on the site, but I haven't been able to find anything like a definitive list. I'd greatly appreciate your feedback.
