Non Fungible Token is a misnomer to me. Most of them are digital certificates for ownership of freely available images that, like this case, have nothing to do with the actual owner or creator of the images. There is nothing tangible to own, there’s no sort of chain of ownership or receipt of purchase or certificate of authenticity. There is no real way to secure your NFT once it is purchased, there’s a big story about some guy who lost all his NFTs of apes, a hacker can steal them as if they were just treasure in your World Of Warcraft chests. Probably easier.
We are doomed if cryptocurrency and NFTs become our actual system. It’s the worst parts of Idiocracy come to life.
Will we next see drump selling all the images made of him both pro and con as yet another way of grifting of other peoples work to make money for himself.
